Changing Brake Pads

Following my car service a few days ago, I have enlisted the help of my friend Tim to change the brake pads on both the front and rear:

On this front right wheel, we can see the rotor and the brake pad:

I was suggested by the dealership mechanic that the rotors might need machining.  Upon a closer look today, however, there seems no to be such need.  I also feel vibration when applying the brakes, so the suggestion was probably more on the cautionous side.

After taking it apart, I quickly snap a couple of photos.

In both pictures, the left one is the used one, and the right one is the new one.  Needless to say, there is a huge difference on how much the brake pads have been used up.  An hour later, the brakes are working fine with stronger stopper power.
