Vancouver has made first place again, this time in the Walk Score Ranks Canada’s Most Walkable Cities, scoring 78 (out of 100) points.
This means getting around in Vancouver does not always have to depend on transit or cars. People tend to choose stores/services closer to home, as to reduce the amount of communing. They want places where they can get to within a short walk, bike ride, or driving.
This creates benefits such as less traffic congestion, improved personal health due to increase in exercise, and better air quality.
Vancouverites will have split opinions though, as traffic congestion is known to have gotten worsen in recent years due to increase in population, more urban development, and added vehicles on the road.
